Gus Dean propels to seventh top-five of season in Salem fall classic

Driver Quote:

“We had a good No. 32 GREE Cooling Products Toyota Camry. We could have had a better finish I think, but my radio came undone with about 20 laps or so left and I was trying to drive one handed and connect the radio wire back in.

“We had a special paint scheme commemorating Mr. Kevin (Cywinski)’s success back in his heyday of late model racing. The car came back in one piece and I think our short track program is one of the best out there, I just wish we could have gotten GREE back in Victory Lane.

“We’ll keep trying, we still have three races left.”

Event Notes:

Gus Dean finished fifth in the Eddie Gilstrap Motors Fall Classic 200 by Meadow View / Salem Crossing at Salem Speedway in his second ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards race at the historic half-mile oval.

In 17 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards races this season Dean has logged seven top-five, 14 top-10 finishes and 15 top-11 finishes including a season-high second at Salem (Ind.) Speedway in April.

Austin Theriault won the Eddie Gilstrap Motors Fall Classic 200 by Meadow View / Salem Crossing by Zane Smith (second), Dalton Sargeant (third), Josh Williams (fourth) and Gus Dean (fifth).

Next Race: SCOTT 150 at Chicagoland Speedway on Sept. 14, 2017 live on FOX Sports 1 (FS1).
