Gus Dean and “Vengeance’ Ready to Tackle South Georgia Motorsports Park

Dean Racing Heads South for Mud Truck Glory

ADEL, Ga.: Veteran Motorsports driver Gus Dean is continuing to make waves in the Mud Truck arena, heading into this weekend’s event at South Georgia Motorsports Park with confidence and momentum on his side.

Dean, a three-time ARCA Menards Series winner, will unleash his powerful Mud Truck — aptly named “Vengeance” — as the Bluffton, S.C. native aims for another podium finish following a thrilling victory last month at Twitty’s Mud Bog in Ulmer, S.C.

“I’m ready to get back after it this weekend at South Georgia Motorsports Park,” said Dean. “I’m enjoying this year taking Vengeance around the South, participating in these Mud Truck events. It’s truly a spectacle to see in person and the fan base continues to grow with every race.

“I’ve been fortunate enough, with the support of veterans in the industry, to quickly digest the fundamentals of the sport. Thanks to their guidance and my hard work refining my Mud Truck craft, we’re in the hunt for a podium finish at almost every event we attend.”

This weekend’s event marks another round in the Southern Mud Outlaw Series, a highly competitive tour that attracts some of the region’s best drivers and machines.

“It’s awesome to be a part of the Southern Mud Outlaw Series,” Dean said. “The competition is top-notch, and the events are well organized and fan-focused. Being able to compete against some of the best in the business pushes me to elevate my game every time we line up. It’s a great challenge and one I’m proud to be part of.”

Beyond competition, Dean has also become a vocal advocate for safety within the Mud Truck community, using his background in professional stock car racing to raise standards across the board.

From updated uniforms to recommended head and neck restraints, Dean has played a role in bringing structure and awareness to a rapidly evolving segment of motorsports.

“I’ve spent my entire career in environments where safety is a top priority, and I’ve made it my mission to carry that same mindset into Mud Truck racing,” Dean explained.

“There’s a lot of passion and horsepower in this sport, and I just want to help ensure we’re doing everything we can to protect the drivers and crews. If I can use my stock car experience to make a difference here, then it’s all worth it.”

After shifting his focus from stock cars to Mud Trucks this season, Dean has embraced the community and spirit of a fast-growing motorsports discipline where camaraderie and competition go hand in hand. While he’s found a new rhythm in the mud, Dean makes it clear he isn’t done with stock car racing.

In fact, he views his time in the Mud Truck world as a way to stay sharp, competitive, and connected with fans while exploring new challenges — all with the intention of returning to pavement in the future.

“I love stock car racing, and I’ll be back in that arena soon,” Dean added. “But right now, I’m embracing the Mud Truck world. I’ve made a lot of friends in a short amount of time and learned from the best. Duke (Bohanon) has been a valuable asset to our Dean Racing program over the past year or so.

“He’s helped me understand what it takes to compete for the trophy, while also building us a Mud Truck that not only captivates the attention of the audience, but has become one of the leaders of the pack. We’ll head to South Georgia Motorsports Park this weekend and look to continue our winning ways.”

Dean’s impact isn’t limited to the track. He was recently interviewed by LOCAL Life Magazine, a lifestyle publication based in South Carolina, where he’ll be featured in the sports category this summer.

The piece will highlight his achievements in motorsports as well as his continued contributions to his hometown community, showcasing a career built not just on speed but on character and pride in his roots.

Dean will announce his racing plans for the remainder of the 2025 and 2026 seasons in due course.
