This Week’s Young’s Motorsports’ Chevrolet Silverado at the Texas Motor Speedway … Gus Dean will pilot Chassis No. 020 in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series SpeedyCash.com 400 at the Texas Motor Speedway. The Jeff Stankiewicz-led team last unloaded this Young’s Motorsports-prepared chassis at the Kansas Speedway on May 10, where it finished in the 14th-place after starting in the eighth-place in the chassis’ fourth appearance of the 2019 NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series season. Chassis No. 020 has history at the Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway, and the Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway, Texas Motor Speedway, and the Kansas Speedway with Dean.

Lone Star State … This weekend marks Gus Dean’s second Texas Motor Speedway appearance with the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series. The Bluffton, S.C., driver has earned an average starting position of 26.0 and an average finishing position of 29.0 at the 1.5-mile track. He made his track debut on March 29, 2019 in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series.

Race Rewind: Texas Motor Speedway … Gus Dean, driver of No. 12 Basin Pump Down Services Chevrolet Silverado for Young’s Motorsports, finished in the 29th-place in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series Vankor 350 at the Texas Motor Speedway on March 29. The 24-year old started in the 26th-place in his debut at the Fort Worth, Texas,-facility. Dean was collected in an early incident in Turn 4, and his day was limited to just 28 total laps. As such, he ended up turning in a 29th-place finish.

Media Availability … Gus Dean will be accessible to media in attendance at the Texas Motor Speedway on Thursday, June 6 at 3:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. (CT). The NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series rotation media availability will be hosted inside the media center.

Speedway Stats: In six combined NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series starts on speedways (tracks 1 to 2-miles in length), Gus Dean has an average finish of 20.0.

Atop the Pit Box: Jeff Stankiewicz … Jeff Stankiewicz, crew chief of the No. 12 Basin Pump Down Services Chevrolet Silverado, has 11 starts at the Fort Worth, Texas,-facility in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series, including one top-five finish and three top-10 finishes. In addition, Stankiewicz has one start at the Texas Motor Speedway in the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) with motocross champion Ricky Carmichael.

In the Rearview Mirror: Charlotte Motor Speedway … Gus Dean, driver of the No. 12 LG Air Conditioning Technologies Chevrolet Silverado for Young’s Motorsports, finished in the 26th-place in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway on Friday, May 17. The 24-year old started in the 19th-place in his debut at the Concord, N.C.,-facility. Dean finished Stage 1 on Lap 30 in the 16th-place, and advanced to the 17th-place at the end of Stage 2 on Lap 60. On Lap 79 he was involved in an incident in Turn 2. The South Carolina-native was scored as high as the ninth-place.

“I am really looking forward to going back to the Texas Motor Speedway this week, because our Young’s Motorsports team has some unfinished business. Even though we did not have a good qualifying-effort in March, we had a really quick No. 12 Basin Pump Down Services Chevrolet Silverado ready for the race. Unfortunately, we were at the wrong place at the wrong time and got caught-up in an early race incident.

Season-to-date … Through the first eight NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series races of the 2019 season, Gus Dean has completed 936 of 1273 laps contested (73.5 percent), and is currently 15th in the driver point standings, and 20th in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series owner points. In addition, the Young’s Motorsports driver has spent 347 laps running in the top 15 and has made 301 green-flag passes thus far this season.
